Sakré works with natural fibers like undyed wool and felt, shaped through Anatolian craftsmanship and a contemporary design approach.

Wool is a living fiber. It responds to the body and to the environment, offering a natural balance between insulation and breathability. It retains warmth in cold conditions while remaining comfortable as temperatures rise. Its structure allows it to absorb moisture without feeling wet, helping regulate humidity and maintain a dry, stable feel against the skin. Naturally resilient, wool recovers its shape and resists odors, making it a durable and low-maintenance material.Felt enhances these properties through a transformation process using water, heat, and pressure. As the fibers bind together, the material becomes denser, more structured, and more durable, while preserving its breathability and tactile softness. For the Aba vests, Sakré draws on ancestral Anatolian know-how, passed down over generations. Woven from undyed, untreated sheep wool, the fabric is then felted with hot water to increase its density and durability, resulting in a structured yet flexible garment that holds its shape over time.

Origin & Sourcing

Sakré works with wool sourced in Anatolia, where sheep farming and wool production are part of long-standing local practices. Used in its undyed and untreated state, the fiber retains its natural character, with subtle variations in tone and texture.

This approach supports a more direct relationship to material, favoring small-scale production and preserving traditional knowledge.

Sakré is founded by two women with roots in Turkey, where these material traditions are deeply embedded.

A material shaped by time, refined through use.

Care & cleaning for wool and felt

How to clean felted products ?

Use cold water (up to 30°C) and a natural soap.Gently press out excess water without twisting. Let the piece dry flat, then use steam or an iron to restore its original shape.

Is machine wash safe?

We do not recommend machine washing. However, if you choose to do so, please use a 30°C wool cycle with a gentle, natural detergent and a mild fabric softener.

Is it normal for the vest to shed fibers?

As part of the natural texture, some loose, non-felted fibers may shed during the first few uses. This is normal and will gradually subside with wear.
